Optimization

Over time, our professional journey moves in and out of these 3 phases:

  1. OPTIMIZING

In your current role, you look for ways to be more efficient and more effective. Your skills, reputation, and relationships are moving in the right direction. As your responsibilities grow, you optimize how you prioritize, delegate, and hold others accountable.

  2. TRANSITION

It’s time for a real change. Maybe you’re ready to go get that big title and make a lot more money. In the best case, you’re gotten very skilled at optimizing your current role AND your personal/inter-personal skills such that you’re ready to go make your next big leap.

  3. RESTING

Not the good kind. You’ve gotten comfortable and are now stagnating and simply going through the motions. Essentially, you’re over-riding your innate, human drive towards improvement. Stay here long enough and a transition will be forced upon you.

Where are YOU?

Do you have a “friend” who is Resting but thinks the organization will fall apart without their tribal knowledge?
